Big Brother Naija star, Mercy Eke, has finally opened up on her failed deal with champagne brand, Moët Hennessy.
Speaking on the BBNaija Reunion show, she revealed the deal went sour before it was finalized.
According to her, a nosy fan triggered rumors that the two parties had no deal at a point when she had already been paid but was yet to sign the contract.
She revealed that Moët Hennessy wanted her to sign a deal with them and also attend a party they wanted to organize to which she agreed.
The BBNaija star did attend the party and said they were impressed with her performance and paid her the agreed sum, even before presenting a contract.
Mercy Eke disclosed that the fan in question put a call through to one of the staff members of the champagne company to ask if it was true that the company recently signed Mercy.
However, the company worker told the fan that Mercy had no deal with the company.
After the call, the fan was reported to have posted the information on the internet, making internet users troll Mercy.
Mercy Eke said she wasn’t happy about what happened and demanded that the company publicly apologizes to her but that never happened.
“Immediately I saw that, I called Chief Priest and told him what was going on on the internet and we decided that if the company say they do not know me, me too do not know them”
“I told the company that if I was going to go ahead with the deal, they should release an official statement saying that they know me and to also apologize…I was upset…My management made me return the money because they refused to apologize and the damage had been done.”
