Nigerian singer Small Doctor has explained circumstances that led to his arrest by the police on Monday.
The musician whose real name is Adekunle Temitope, was reported to have threatened to shoot a police officer with a gun he acquired illegally.
However, Small Doctor, in interview with Punch, said his issue with the police was a "case of misunderstanding".
"Everything is settled. My fans need to know that I will not get involved in any illegality," he said.
"The younger ones look up to me for hope and I will never let them down."
He also quashed reports that he was possessing the gun illegally.
"As I said earlier, I cannot be involved in any illegal activity. There is no way I will hold a firearm without having a licence," he said.
When quizzed if his issue with the police could be a major setback for his forthcoming concert slated for Sunday, he said on the contrary he thinks it will be "a major reason for people to attend" the show.
