Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim has opened up about her failed marriage to Kwadwo Safo, son of famous Ghanaian industrialist Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
The couple, who share an eight-year-old son Jayden, were married from 2010 to 2014.
Speaking to Nana Adwoa Sarkodie of Citi News at the launch of her memoir “Juliet Ibrahim: A toast to Life” in Accra, she lamented how people who are ignorant about what she endured in her marriage are quick to judge her.
She said, “People have had their own perception about what led to my divorce.I have sat down for many years and have had to deal with the pain and insults from the public who had no clue what I went through as a person during that period and how it affected me.”
Juliet added that she had to make a bold decision to leave the marriage because she was very depressed in it.
“The depression and all that happened. All I will say is you should never judge someone who wants to come out of a marriage.
“Because sometimes it is better to come out of it than to stay in it. For your own sanity and mental stability it us always good to take a bold decision for yourself. For your kids, if there are kids involved take a bold decision,” she said.
In other related news, Juliet’s Nigerian ex-boyfriend Iceberg Slim has publicly apologized to her in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
According to Iceberg, whose real name is Olusegun Olowokere, he regrets cheating on her during their relationship which ended mid 2018.
“I lied, I cheated, I took your love for granted… and in turn, I brought ridicule and shame to you,” he said.
