Controversial actor Uche Maduagwu says Davido’s “arrogance” as an artiste cost him a feature on Beyoncé’s Lion King-inspired album, The Lion King: The Gift.
The 14-track album features some of the best artistes in Nigeria, including Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Burna Boy and Wizkid.
Not only that. Other African stars such as Moonchild Sanelly, Busiswa and Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale are also in there.
Davido was, however, conspicuously missing on the album, sparking conversation on social media over his exclusion.
Reacting to the trending song, thought to be the best among the lot, Nollywood star Maduagwu said Davido was sidelined because he failed to accept that “Wizkid is the King of Naija music.”
He intimated on Instagram that, but for Davido’s lack of humility, Wizkid would have “begged” Beyoncé to include him in the album.
“@wizkidayo Did not mention your name to Beyonce because you are not HUMBLE, keep your congratulation,” wrote Maduagwu as he shared a side by side image of Beyoncé and Wizkid.
He added, “Oga, see what your arrogance has done to you? If you had accepted #Wizkid as the King of #Naija music, will he not have also begged @beyonce to include you in the #LionKing album?
“Even Dangote that is the richest man in #Africa, he is still humble, he does not carry shoulder like he is the one that brought everyone to #Lagos.”
