‘I love South Africa, I love Africa more’ – Burna Boy

Nigerian afrobeats sensation Burna Boy has finally reacted to calls for him to apologize to South Africans over comments made about them months ago regarding xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

The “African Giant” attacked South African rapper AKA on social media and threatened never to step foot in his country until something is done about the killing of Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa.

After a few months, Burna Boy is set to perform in an “Africa Unite” concert in Pretoria, South Africa, much to the displeasure of South African artistes and citizens alike.

There have been calls on social media for the “Gum body” hitmaker to apologize for his threats but he has refused to apologize saying that he loves Africa more than he loves South Africa.

In a series of tweets regarding the issue, Burna Boy said that he is willing to put his life on the line if it means peace and security of all Africans will be assured.

He also justified his actions by saying “Let’s not act like xenophobia is not real in South Africa, let’s not act like Nigerians, Tanzanians, Zimbabweans and many other AFRICANS have not been victims in the last three years. Please Let us all do our part to Unite Africa.”

Burna Boy, in spite of the threats from South Africans and rumours of South African artistes boycotting the show, is still set to perform in Pretoria and has promised to donate part of the proceeds to victims of the xenophobic attacks.
