Timi Dakolo has rejected claims he reportedly said in an interview that he met his wife, Busola Dakolo a virgin, despite accusing Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of rape.
Photographer Busola and her husband Timi held a press conference in Nigeria’s commercial hub Lagos on Sunday to speak to issues regarding the allegation.
In a widely-shared video last month, Ms Dakolo alleged that the leading pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (Coza) raped her as a teenager, prompting protests at branches of the church.
The pastor has denied the accusation, and has since “taken a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church”.
Kemi Olunloyo last two weeks said her findings revealed the sexual encounter was rather consensual than rape.
In fact, investigative journalist referred to an interview she had with Mr Dakolo, in 2013, where he told her that he met and married Busola “pure as a virgin”.
Timi Dakolo denies the claims.
