Music executive Ubi Franklin has slammed the federal government for saying they will make his former artiste Tekno a scapegoat for dancing with half naked girls in a transparent moving van.
A statement released on Sunday by the Director-General, National Council for Arts and Culture, a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Segun Runsewe, said that the musician would be punished severely “because his action is a threat to national security.”
But reacting to the statement on Monday, Ubi condemned the Federal Government over its decision to make Tekno a scapegoat “to teach others a serious lesson”.
According to Ubi, who only parted ways with Tekno a week ago, his former signee was only “expressing his craft” through the nude video.
“You see this country Nigeria? Smh 🤦♂️ I don tire. How can expressing your craft through a music video be a Threat to National Security? A 28 year old with no Gun? Very few making Nigeria/Nigerians proud ?” he stated on Instagram.
