The problem Nigerian youths have, we don’t trust ourselves -Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has opined that the mentality of the youth of Nigeria makes it difficult for them to take up leadership positions.

He said the youth don’t have the confidence to aspire for the big positions and limit themselves to the smaller ones. In his opinion, that is the major problem they go through. He said when you disclose your intention to run for the big offices like the presidency, they will laugh and advise you to downgrade your ambition.

Yul Edochie contested for the Anambra State Governor and lost the seat. Many of his fans have been calling on him to run for president; maybe he is testing the waters to see if grounds are good for his presidential ambition.

He tweeted:

“Tell the average Nigerian youth you want to run for Senate, Governor or President. He’ll laugh & tell you to go start from House of Assembly. That’s our major problem. We don’t even believe in ourselves. Know this: there’re no impossibilities in life. What you focus on grows.”
