Toke Makinwa takes a dig at ‘cosmetic surgery’ critics

Toke Makinwa has rebuked persons who do not condone cosmetic surgery to “stop trying to condemn those who do” and appreciate their bodies.

The media personality, who once confessed to having had a procedure done, in a vicious note on social media said it’s unnecessary for people to make a “fuss” about others who go under the knife to enhance their body and feel more confident with themselves.

She wrote:

Toke Makinwa’s post has been deemed by many as a thinly-veiled reference to Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, who recently addressed the subject.

RMD, in a post on his Instagram page, contended that butt enlargement and boob lift among other vanities “cannot make you truly happy” but loving oneself unconditionally will.

“A woman who is secure in her looks has no urge to go under the knife for enhancement…,”  he wrote. “True happiness comes from knowing who you are (self discovery) and loving yourself.”

Toke however disagrees with him. But singer Dencia admitted that there was some truth in RMD’s message.

She commented on the post saying, “Truths is he ain’t lying, cosmetic surgery doesn’t make you feel any better about urself, that’s why people keep going and doing it over and over again but still I don’t want to it to be him talking about it.”
