Nigerian businessman, Tony Elumelu meets Ivanka Trump at the White House

Nigerian businessman Tony Elumelu was a guest at the White House on Wednesday where he had a meeting with Ivanka Trump, daughter and adviser to President Donald Trump on job creation + economic empowerment.

Elumelu, who is the founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), met with Ivanka Trump to discuss women empowerment through his entrepreneurship programme.

According to Ifeyinwa Ugochukwu, the CEO of TEF, the meeting was about supporting women-owned businesses and empowering young entrepreneurs in Africa.

“Her women focused initiatives We-Fi and 2XAfrica which support women owned businesses are very much aligned with our own commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs across Africa,” she wrote on Twitter.
