8-year-old Nigerian wins gold medal at African Gymnastics Championship

An 8-year-old Nigerian girl Stephanie Ogechukwu Onusiriuka won a Gold Medal following her participation in the 2019 African Gymnastics Championship in Pretoria South Africa.

Stephanie showed interest in Gymnastics at the age of two and got the support of her parents to nurture her dreams.

Currently in level 6, she started professionally in October 2018 with TIG Gymnastics at the National Stadium Parking B, Abuja.

Stephanie Onusiriuka participated in the 8th Edition TIG International Level System Gymnastics Championship Competition in Abuja 2018.

Following her win in South Africa, she will be participating in the National youth games coming scheduled for 7th September 2019 in Ilorin, Kwara state.

TIG Gymnastics is one of the outstanding Gymnastics clubs in Africa that has produced Gymnasts that have represented Nigeria in Singapore, South Africa, Canada and Seychelles.

Her coach Anthony Asuquo discovered she is gifted and has the zeal and passion for the sport. Mr Asuquo is the first certified Coach in aerobics and artistic Gymnastics in Nigeria. 

Stephanie’s aim is to represent Nigeria at the Olympics and other Major Gymnastics Championships globally.
