The president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr. Musa Nimrod has recounted his achievements since his election two years ago. Speaking during the celebration of his 2nd year Anniversary as the President Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Nimrod acknowledged the collective inputs of the board and enthusiasts in developing the game.
“It is indeed a journey of God’s grace and love. Two years ago when we were inaugurated, we promised to operate an open door policy. “Today with the collective inputs of Volleyball enthusiasts both at home and in diaspora we have repositioned the sport we love and launched it into a new path,” he said.
While reeling out the achievements despite the challenges encountered, he appreciated the corporate world for their support. “All this were made possible without corporate funding, but by the relentless effort of the leadership of the board and some individuals who share the vision of the board.
He reeled out the hosting of the African U21 boys championship in Abuja; sending U20 girls to Kenya for the junior female championship; hosting to fulfilment the national league and eventual categorization of divisions and premier league; introducing Beach Volleyball into the fold of sports of the National Sports Festival; participating and winning the annual end of year beach games in Yaunde Cameroon and qualifying Nigeria in Cairo for the world U19 Beach Volleyball championship (boys).
Others are sponsoring two Nigerian coaches to Nairobi Kenya for high performance course; hosting the zone 3 club championship in Lagos; hosting and qualifying Nigeria to the world beach games coming up in Hamburg Germany amongst others.
