British boxer of Nigerian descent, Anthony Joshua has visited Nigeria for the first time in 15 years.

The former world heavy champion’s mother Yeta is a full Nigerian, while his father Robert is of Irish and Nigerian ancestry.

Joshua’s sister Janet on Thursday revealed in an Instagram post that her brother has touched down his ancestral home.

She posted an adorable video of her brother being mobbed by fans and wrote, ”

“Welcome home my dear brother 🇳🇬❤️ May the Lord almighty uphold you. Strengthen you and be with you.
Back to the mother land. The soil of our foundation #JoshuaGeneration. Doing the work of God 🙏🏿🙏🏿🏆🏆🏆🇳🇬.”

Meanwhile Andy Ruiz, who technically knocked out Joshua to win the heavy weight title, has refused a rematch in the latter’s home UK. According to him, he wants the rematch to be in the US or Mexico.

“I want the rematch to be in Mexico or New York City again, Vegas, or here (in LA),” he told TMZ in an interview.

When asked if Joshua doesn’t agree to this,  he said, “It doesn’t matter because I’m the champion… I’m calling the shots… We’re the A-side.”
