Demand for English talents in the German Bundesliga has sky-rocketed following the performances of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson at Dortmund and Hoffenheim respectively.
The overall performance of the two English youngsters in Germany has resulted in German clubs now switching focus to the academies of premier league clubs as sources for next big talents.
The latest English youngster to earn admiration from a German club is Arsenal winger Xavier Amaechi.
The 18-year-old has reportedly caught the eyes of Bayern Munich who have sent scouts to monitor him with the intention of snapping him when the summer transfer window opens.
Amaechi was born in England to Nigerian parents and is eligible to represent the country despite featuring for England at the under-17 level.
Amaechi is highly rated at Arsenal and the club has tied him to a long term deal that will expire in 2022. The club described him as a pacey winger blessed with quick feet and incredible drilling skills.
“2017/18 proved to be a breakthrough year for Xavier. Not only did he show his quality for the under-18s, scoring 10 goals in 15 appearances, including five in the FA Youth Cup, he also made six starts in the Premier League 2, recording three assists as one of the side’s main sources of creativity,” the website adds.
Bayern turned their attention to Amaechi after failing to sign Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi but a deal for the Nigerian winger is unlikely as coach Unai Emery is believed to be a big admirer of Amaechi and will only listen to loan offers.
