Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa has revealed the team’s expectations of their match against Seychelles in the last game of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers.
Contrary to assertions that the Eagles will underestimate their opponent and not give off their best in today’s game, Musa believes the team is mentally and physically prepared for victory.
Speaking to media men after the team’s final training on Thursday, Musa noted that the team is focused on giving Nigerians victory.
“The Eagles are ready for today’s game. We are here to win. The players are in high spirit and they want to continue putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”
But the coach of the Pirates of Seychelles, Gavin Jeanne says his side will give Nigeria a difficult run for their money.
He conceded that his team lacks the caliber of players his opponent boast of but was confident of getting something favourable from the game
“We are here to play good football despite not qualifying for the Egypt 2019 Nations Cup.Playing against one of these big teams in Africa with talented players playing for top clubs in Europe is not an easy task. Our player are amateurs, but that will not stop us from giving our best,” he said.
South Africa will take on Libya in the other Group E game. A win or draw for the Bafana Bafana lads will send them through to the AFCON in Egypt.
The match between Nigeria and Seychelles is scheduled for 4pm at the Stephen Keshi Stadium
