Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan rescinds retirement decision after call from president

Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has annulled his decision to retire from the Black Stars after his captaincy was stripped from him.

The former skipper released a press statement saying that, after speaking to the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, he has decided to make himself available for selection by Coach Kwasi Appiah ahead of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Gyan reiterated his desire to help the Black Stars end their three-decade-long AFCON trophy draught, adding that he remains committed to serving the country and the fans.
