A barrage of verbal of attacks have been launched on the national under-20 team the Flying Eagles following their exit at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
A 2-1 defeat to fellow West Africans, Senegal on Monday brought Nigeria’s insipid display at the youth tournament to an end and some Nigerians have taken to social media to vent their frustrations and anger over the team’s performance.
Two first half goals from Senegal’s Amadou Sagna and Ibrahima Niane kicked Nigeria out of the tournament at the last 16 stage.
Success Makanjuola’s second half strike which revived hopes of a comeback turned out to be a mere consolation for coach Aigbogun and his players.
This Nigerian U20 team is absolutely awful, dreadful, horrendous, repulsive, atrocious, nauseating, horrendous, hideous and ghastly! They are rancid, rotten to the core! I can’t think of a worse word!
