The Head Coach of Nigeria’s Women senior Volleyball team, Usman Abdallah has dedicated the team’s All Africa Games ticket to the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
The Nigerian ladies on Monday qualified for the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco without a drop of sweat as their rivals failed to turn up for the zone 3 Africa qualifiers in Abuja.
Although Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso had indicated interest, none of them appeared for the technical committee meeting which held at the Bolingo Hotels in Abuja.
Consequently, the president of the Confederation of Africa Volleyball, Zone 3, Paul Atchoe said Nigeria will automatically represent the zone at the 2019 All Africa Games.
Abdallah, therefore, described their qualification as good development for Nigeria’s volleyball and commended the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) for their support.
“The federation has created an enabling environment for Nigeria to qualify.
The president Engineer Musa Nimrod is always here to watch the girls train and I think it is also a motivation to have him here all the time.
“Right now, we do not have any professional player in the team but we are going to fortify the team with some foreign-based professionals before the All Africa Games,” he said.
